Jeremiah 23:6
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
The people of God, His Judah shall be saved. And His Israel shall dwell safely.
Is this not a strong promise we may cleave on. Sure promise that all His kingdom shall be saved and remain saved. The all believing people His beloved bride the Church have this and many more promises.
But for only the righteous, only for the perfect righteous is there a place in „The kingdom of God”.
So let us think of who is righteous, are there levels in righteousness? Can we be righteous in the sight of Gods perfect Law?
There where in Jesus time Scribes and Pharisees and they where devout followers of Gods Law and lived by it so perfectly that men in these time probably thought.
„These people are surely part of Gods kingdom.”
But Jesus said.
Matt 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Can men do beter then the Scribes and Pharisees. For they where perfect. Can one come to the throne of God saying I am righteous I am perfect I am perfect obedient.
Well only God is good, Only God is perfect Holy and only One is Righteous. Only One is perfect obedient. And that is Jesus Christ, THE Lord our God.
Rest now dearly beloved in His blood shed for you, rest in His obedience, in His righteousness. And then your burden shall turn into rest. You will have peace.
Read this words:
Isaiah 32:17-18
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
Work the work of Righteousness by believing and trusting in Him Jesus whom God the Father has send for you. Rest in His work and have assurance for ever.
Start calling Him „The Lord my Righteousness” so that the word of God may be
for-filled in you. Amen.
