Daniel 10:1-12
10 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war.[a] The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, 5 I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves. 8 So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. 9 Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.
10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
Psalm 138
1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart;
before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
2 I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.
3 When I called, you answered me;
you greatly emboldened me.
4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, LORD,
when they hear what you have decreed.
5 May they sing of the ways of the LORD,
for the glory of the LORD is great.
6 Though the LORD is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
though lofty, he sees them from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
with your right hand you save me.
8 The LORD will vindicate me;
your love, LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
Psalm86:12
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
Korte Uitleg:
De hele week lang heeft God voor ons gezorgd en Hij heeft gezien wat wij voor Hem overhadden. Laten we Hem dan ook bedanken voor zijn aanwezigheid, voor zijn liefde, wijsheid , kracht. Hij redde ons en gaf ons ondanks alles keer op keer zo veel liefde. De almachtige heilige Heer, er is werkelijk waar niemand zoals Hem. Aan hem geef ik alles, aan Hem alle eer. Gezegend is Zijn naam. Hij die een weg baande Ten alle tijde zal ik Hem prijzen. Uit mijn hart geef ik Hem prijs.
(The Lord was with was through out the whole week. And He has seen all that we have done. Let us thank Him for his presence, love, wisdom, power. His unconditonal love showed to us every day. The almighty holy God, truly there is none like Him. To Him all glory, to Him I give all honour. Blessed be His name. Him that paved a path so that I can be free indeed. From my heart I’ll give Him praise.

4. Bedank God voor beantwoorden van ons gebed voordat we zelfs aan het vasten begonnen. (Thank God for answering our prayers even before we started the fasting)
5. Bedank God voor kracht, wijsheid, begrip en het opnieuw vullen van onze hart. (Thank God for strength, wisdom, understanding and refilling our hearts.)
